Wheatland leo'sThe Woodcreek Virtual Lions Club is incredibly happy and proud to announce our sponsorship of the Wheatland Leos! This new Leos club out of Strathmore is working hard to engage in the community and make an impact. In their first year they have been up to several fun and exciting projects. They have sold cotton candy at Canada day, helped out at the Strathmore Stampede, volunteering in their school, collecting food bank donations, selling tacos, helping out with the community book sale, cleaning up litter, and much more! The Wheatland Leos were also a huge support of Camp Woodcreek our inaugural Lions Youth Exchange Camp! These young people are dedicated to making their community better and we are so happy to support them.

Second Anual Shopping With the KingsChristmas 2023 was an exciting season for the Woodcreek Virtual Lions Club. In partnership with the Strathmore Wheatland Kings Hockey Team, Chestermere Lions Club, ConnectFirst Credit Union, Rockyford Lions Club, Strathmore Canadian Tire, Strathmore Co-op, Strathmore Lions Club, Strathmore Wheatland Kings, Strathmore Tim Hortons, & Tina's No Frills we were able to raise over $5000!
20 local families were able to send their kids to shop with the Wheatland Kings for Christmas gifts, as well as receive grocery gift cards for the holiday season. The Wheatland Kings Hockey team also helped wrap the gifts, provided a hot dog lunch, gave the families a locker room tour, and the day ended with a family pass to the home game! This remarkable experience really highlights what being a Lion is all about, making some holiday magic happen! |
Sunrise House - Grand PrairieWoodcreek Lions Club is happy to donate to Sunrise House! The Sunrise House provides emergency shelter to youth ages 12-17 who have become or are at risk of becoming homeless. They provide a safe and supportive environment encouraging healthy decision making and strengthen coping skills. Since opening its doors in October 2003, the Grande Prairie Youth Emergency Shelter (Sunrise House) has assisted over 3,500 youth who, due to a variety of circumstances found themselves without a safe place to sleep. At Sunrise House they are committed to working with these youth to develop long term, permanent solutions to whatever circumstance has lead them through our doors.
