Third Annual Shopping With the Kings

Christmas 2024 was another heartwarming season for the Woodcreek Virtual Lions Club.
Back in December, 20 local families participated in a special holiday shopping experience with the Strathmore Wheatland Kings. Hosted at the Remuda building at the Strathmore Ag Grounds, the day was filled with joy, connection, and Christmas cheer.
Children shopped for gifts alongside the Wheatland Kings players, followed by a festive hot dog lunch provided by the team’s concession. Volunteers and players helped wrap gifts, and each family received a Christmas card with gift cards and complimentary passes to a Wheatland Kings home game.
This annual tradition would not be possible without the generosity and support of our incredible partners.
Thank you to our 2024 donors:
Carseland Lions, Rockyford Lions, Woodcreek Lions, Tina’s No Frills, Edgefield Co-op, Wheatland Kings, Strathmore Canadian Tire, and Agra Risk Solutions Inc.
This event continues to be a shining example of what it means to be a Lion — coming together to create holiday magic and meaningful memories for families in our community.

Wheatland Leos MDC Convetion Sponsorship

We are incredibly excited to support the Wheatland Leos as they attend the MDC Convention in Lethbridge. This opportunity allowed four dedicated young members to represent their club, connect with fellow Leos and Lions, and gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be part of the Lions organization.
The Wheatland Leos continue to show leadership, community spirit, and a commitment to service. Supporting their growth and involvement at events like the MDC Convention helps strengthen the future of Lionism and empowers the next generation of leaders.

Wheatland and Area Hospice

The Woodcreek Lions are honoured to support Wheatland & Area Hospice in enhancing their family and children’s area with vital supplies. Providing comfort, care, and safe spaces for families experiencing end-of-life journeys is central to their mission to uplift the community.
By helping equip this space with the resources it needs, we are partnering with Wheatland Hospice in their mission to honour life, nurture healing, and support families in their most difficult times.

Lions Quest

We are proud to support Lions Quest Canada, a leading organization dedicated to fostering positive youth development through social and emotional learning.
Lions Quest programs help equip young people with the skills they need to build healthy relationships, make responsible decisions, and thrive in school and in life. By supporting this initiative, we are helping create stronger, more compassionate communities where youth are empowered to succeed.

Alberta Association of Students' Councils and Advisors (AASCA)

We are proud to support the Alberta Association of Students’ Councils and Advisors (AASCA), an organization dedicated to empowering student leaders and their advisors through conferences, resources, and leadership development opportunities. AASCA plays an important role in helping young people build confidence, communication skills, and a strong sense of community involvement.
