Who can attend the camp?
Youth participants in the Lions International Youth Exchange program aged 16-18.
Where is the camp located?
Camp is located in Southern Alberta, near Waterton Lakes National Park.
What is the duration of the program?
Camp typically includes a stay with a host family before camp July 12th - July 26th 2026. Plus a one-week camp session July 26th - August 1st 2026.
What should I bring?
Comfortable outdoor clothing, hiking shoes, swimwear, and an adventurous spirit.
Who supervises the camp?
The program is organized and hosted by members of the Woodcreek Lions Club, with experienced leaders and volunteers.
Are meals provided?
Yes. Meals are provided during camp, and host families share meals during your stay with them.
What types of activities can I expect?
Hiking, rafting, paddling, horseback riding, campfire nights, team challenges, cultural presentations, and environmental projects.
Is there a cost to attend?
The cost of Camp is $600 USD as well as all travel fees to get to and from Canada.
Can I take my phone or electronics to camp?
Phones and electronics are allowed in moderation, but campers are encouraged to focus on the experience, nature, and friendships. Leaders provide guidance on when devices can be used.
How do campers get to and from camp activities?
Campers travel to lakes, parks, and landmarks aboard a classic yellow school bus, just like the ones you see in towns across Canada. Riding together is part of the fun — you’ll chat with new friends, play games, and enjoy the scenery as you head off on your next adventure. It’s a quintessential Canadian experience that adds to the excitement of every trip.
